Amid growing global economic interdependence, Vietnam and Japan are intensifying their collaborative efforts across various sectors. This strategic partnership aims to bolster ties in diplomacy, security, trade, technology, and cultural exchange. The move comes as both nations seek to enhance their mutual economic strength and contribute to regional stability.
Japanese Foreign Minister Motegi Toshimitsu emphasized Japan’s commitment to working with Vietnam to achieve shared prosperity. His comments were made in a message commemorating Vietnam’s 81st National Day, underscoring Japan’s strategic interest in deepening bilateral relations with Vietnam.
The partnership is entering a new phase, according to Japanese Finance Minister Katayama Satsuki, who highlighted the potential for expanded cooperation in finance, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, critical minerals, and energy. She noted that these areas of collaboration would not only drive economic growth but also reinforce regional stability.
On the Vietnamese side, Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu expressed that the relationship between the two countries is at its strongest. He pointed out the increasing cooperation in fields such as science and technology, innovation, green and digital transformation, and the development of skilled human resources.
The Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is further reinforced by both nations’ complementary economic strengths and growing mutual trust. Parliamentary exchanges are also being strengthened, with the Vietnamese community in Japan playing a vital role in supporting these economic and social ties.
