The Blue Jays made their intentions clear in the 2025 MLB Draft, selecting elite shortstop and pitcher JoJo Parker eighth overall. Parker’s versatility and high ceiling make him one of the most exciting additions to Toronto’s growing roster of young stars.
Coming from Purvis High School, Parker dominated Mississippi baseball, creating a legacy by becoming the highest draft pick in school history. His senior year performance cemented his status as a top-tier prospect.
Those numbers included a strong .489 average with 13 home runs, 64 runs, and 35 RBIs. Nearly unstoppable on the basepaths, Parker racked up 30 stolen bases as well.
On the hill, Parker continued to impress with an 8-2 record, 89 Ks, and a 2.77 ERA across 55.2 innings. While he’s committed to Mississippi State, Toronto now owns his pro rights, setting up big decisions ahead.
