In a bid to enhance productivity and competitiveness, Vietnam, along with other member economies of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), is intensifying efforts to assist micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in embracing digital transformation and integrating artificial intelligence (AI). During a recent APEC workshop held in Hanoi, Vietnamese authorities underscored the necessity of supporting these businesses through initiatives like technology transfer, cultivating digital skills, and fostering innovation.
The workshop served as a platform for dialogue among representatives from APEC economies, international organizations, and leading tech firms. The discussions centered on crucial topics such as AI implementation, developing digital infrastructure, improving access to financial resources, and addressing the digital divide that hampers equitable growth across the region.
This event is part of Vietnam’s broader agenda in preparation for hosting the APEC forum in 2027. Participants are expected to formulate policy recommendations aimed at promoting responsible use of AI and enhancing cooperation in the digital economy within the region.
