Vietnam and France have reiterated their dedication to enhancing their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership by deepening collaboration across various sectors such as diplomacy, trade, defense, and infrastructure. In recent discussions held in Hanoi, the two nations assessed the progress of their bilateral relationship and agreed on the need to speed up the execution of their partnership action plan.
Vietnam emphasized the importance of increased cooperation in areas including defense, cybersecurity, nuclear energy, science and technology, critical minerals, and major infrastructure projects. The country also urged France to expedite the ratification of the EU–Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and to continue its support in lifting the European Union’s “yellow card” on Vietnamese seafood exports.
France acknowledged Vietnam as a vital strategic partner within the Asia-Pacific region and showed interest in expanding joint efforts in nuclear energy, rare earths, satellite technology, transportation infrastructure, healthcare, and cultural exchanges. Both nations committed to enhanced coordination on regional and international issues while advocating for multilateralism, dialogue, and sustainable development.
By underlining their shared goals, Vietnam and France aim to bolster their strategic ties amid a complex global landscape. The renewed focus on collaboration reflects both countries’ recognition of the mutual benefits that such a partnership offers, especially in critical sectors that have global significance.
